That evening we went back to the famous square by the Medina.

Everyone said that the square really gets going in the evening – so it had to be done!

It was electric!

It did have atmosphere!

But it still REALLY smelt.

And still the musicians and entertainers spent more competing against each other for your Euros than performing!

There is a huge eating area surrounding the market kitchens set up in the square. Many trusting tourists eat here but there seemed no standard of hygiene and sitting and eating just makes you a sitting target for the beggars and hustlers.

As soon as you looked at an act their buddies, who were constantly circling for prey the whole time, were around begging/demanding money.

One hour later we were pleased to be back at the hotel!

For me? There was nothing romantic about the Marrakech Madina or the people employed in the tourism business – just a bunch of second rate hustlers, thieves and con men surrounding normal citizens trying to get on with their lives.

The last day we went to the Atlas Mountains via a local market.
