Gosh! It is so nice to be out of the nasty weather in England and back to Shorts and Tee’s.

Yesterday morning was spent doing minor jobs around the boat, cleaning, sorting and re-stowing whilst we waited for the local grocers to get re-stocked in the after the New Year holidays. Then, after 2 very full trolleys of ‘extras’ for the sail it was re-stowing again.

We now have 12 loafs of bread on the side cabinets in our stateroom!

 

Oh! Les found her cheap eyeglasses yesterday in her jacket. This might not seem much but they have been everywhere with us, read in about 10 different languages, helped mark up 9,000 miles of charts and I have personally super-glued metal bits twice on them – they have now become part of us!
(This is a good omen for the trip I’d say)

 

Bob, Bob and Cathy arrived in the early evening from Canada on the same flight so that made it easy for a quick pick up. The airport is only 10 minutes away and I actually saw their plane arrive – from our boat!

Wow! ...AND the guys arrived bearing goodies for the trip.

 

Today, we will just do a few final checks and sit down for a chat about our plan for the the trip and of course talk about our safety procedures. Then,a run out in the car around the island again and a pop into the immigration/customs office in Santa Cruz to get ourselves and the boat formally checked out of the EC

 

Everyone is very excited now. Particularly Les!

We leave first thing on the 4th January 2014 - tomorrow morning!
