Southampton, England

The sail back from Guernsey to Southampton was quite uneventful. We left at 6.00pm and managed a few sailing in the light before sunset. We managed the tides and currents quite nicely and were greeted along the Solent with quite a bit of fog.  Crossing the traffic lanes along the English Channel is becoming quite natural for us these days – it’s just like crossing lanes at Hyde Park corner in London - in rush hour. You just need lots of courage, definite action and don’t forget to keep your eyes closed.

Time to get the manual out and get the auto fog horn going – Gosh, is the horn loud or what when you are 15 feet from it steering!
Discovery are great. They had arranged a berth for us at Ocean Marina and their engineers were ready to start work on the passerelle fittings and all the minor adjustments we needed.

We left the boat in Southampton for the week proudly flying the Discovery logo flag.
