Taormina

Welcome to Italian driving and their really interesting versions of street names, street directions, and ‘Russian roulette – Italian style’!

Despite all the efforts of the local drivers, municipal signage workers and John’s navigation – we made to Taormina!  
Designerland!
The village used in movie sets, tourist programing, general celebrity hangout and people watching location for the rest of us.

We parked in the multi-story car park and got the free transfer bus into the town centre.  High up and secure upon a mountain top. This picturesque walled town has  to be seen.  Sicily’s glitziest resort and restaurant prices to match .  It was here that some of filming for ‘The Godfather’ film was shot so – it had to be done. John found a shop that sold the DVD’s he bought ‘Godfather 3’. We watched the movie that night so we could visualize all the sites.  In fact we all really enjoyed the film too!

From Taormina we could look into the bay below to see the Super yacht ACE.

But wasn’t just ‘ACE’ - there seemed to be a support ship anchored a short distance away with the toys of course – and the helicopter!
