 Hi there Folks
We have finally left the BVIs behind us properly
Anegada is now behind us along with any shelter from the wind.  We are
zipping along at around 8 Knots or more.
We will be getting into our routine now, first
thing to get going is making supper for the (I presume) hungry crew, then Mike
will go to bed and I am taking the first watch till midnight when he will
relieve me and take the watch till dawn at 5am.  Chris will do an
overlapping 4 hour watch in the middle while he gets used to the boat and
hopefully by the time we get to Bermuda he is happy to take a shift on his
own.  With the weather such as it is, strong but very manageable winds, it
is a good practice ground.  I guess Quentin will be able to take the load
off even more when we go for the next leg from Bermuda but will have to go
through the same boat learning curve.
Our fishing rod is out and in use at last.
The Ciguatera toxin will not effect us out here.  I talked at some length
with the lady running the fishing shop in Tortola and she suggested that so long
as we avoid eating baracuda or spanish mackeral (near to shore) then we would be
fine. most fish caught trolling would be fine even in the islands but out at sea
we have little to avoid except the baracuda.  I am not sure I would want to
eat my friendly companion of the last few weeks who has regularly camped out
under out boat.
Right now it is time to put the food on so I will
sign off and probably put in another update while on watch later in the
evening.
Bye for now
