The Snark on The ARC

Writing now on our return to Corfu. Coleen
Milo and Joseph just departed for England and I am alone on the boat.
Finished up the day improving the solar panels wiring and figuring out how to re
wire the batteries. Have rigged the deck lines and improved the rigging
for the Spinnaker guys by addition to 2 quite expensive blocks. Lastly now
have a coil of rope to lay a second halyard to the mast head and spare for the
arc, along with the sea anchor which the guys in the store rigged for me I think
I am flares and a dan buoy short of the Arc requirements.
In the end we spent 3 nights in Paxos and really
quite enjoyed the place it is a very beautiful island and most friendly.
Some of the prettiest villages and lovely scenery. The long haul back to
Corfu was not so long and we anchored for lunch in Corfu town. However it
was like an oven sitting in the lee of the castle so we headed out north to
Kalami bay where we started the cruise. We were remembered at the white
house restaurant and had a lovely evening but were infested with mozzies
again. Last night we returned to the marina and spend the day yesterday at
the water park Aqua land which the boys had been keen to go to. It was
great fun and certainly worth a day off the boat for. I fear today was not
a great last day for the boys as the swimming was in the pool not leaping off
the boat into the crystal clear waters of the ionian.
Tomorrow off to the boat lift and a new through
hull fitting for the water maker. In addition I hope I can re configure
the battery connections and I am booked in with Yanmar here for an engine
service and I will get a set of engine spares and a quick lesson in maintenance
along the way. Looking at the time I need to off and collect the
laundry. Skipper and crew at the moment!!
Pete is joining on Sunday night for the trip to
Mallorca. Hope we get fair winds and don't have to engine all the way to
make time as the journey is long and the time allowed short.
bye for now...
