Good morning. Approaching Cabo De La Vela yesterday, we thought we would have accelerated winds. But, they were mostly mild. Big little seas made for an adventurous water view dining experience, what a treat to dine while cruising the Colombian coastline, best table for two I have ever experienced! On the 03:00 watch a small skiff appeared very close, quite the adrenaline boost to say the least. It turned out to be a curious fisherman. There were many fishing vessels in sight throughout the night along the Peninsula De La Guajira. The wind flattened to less than 3 knots overnight. We put the main up and sailed wing and wing until 05:00, currently we are on a broad reach off of Riohacha. I awoke to yet another flying fish in the bed!
Our first glimpse of the coastline was massive sand dunes, very little vegetation. Currently we are 30 nm from Santa Marta, hazy atmosphere is blocking our view of land. We will reach the marina today sometime.
All is well
Cheers from Breeze
