Sea Monkey and her company have been well since our last update. We spent the last few days circling the island of Tahaa; the only one of the Societies which can be circumnavigated entirely within the reef. When not sailing we’ve (Phil) been busy making final preparations on the boat and her systems for our first significant passage. The days have been punctuated by beautiful moments in Polynesia’s unique tropical environment. We took two runs down the “coral river,” an incredible snorkeling experience floating with the current between two small motus on Tahaa’s western side. Surrounded on all sides by coral animals and otherworldly tropical fish. We motored up Polynesia’s only navigable river, the Faaroa, through a canopy of breadfruit, banana, hibiscus and other tropical species too numerous to name. We set sail at first light Wednesday on passage to Oponohu Bay, Moorea. Phil, Sheila and Tyler are healthy and filled with gratitude on their floating home in the Pacific.
