A brief intermission in the tale of the Second South American Inquisition.

It has been noted that I have been a bit verbose over the last few blogs and it's time for a brief intermission.
No chocolates, icecream, peanuts or some trolly dolly shining a torch in your face, just a collection of photos of Peru & Bolivia's most bazaar attribute......their funny hats.

It is strikingly obvious as soon as you arrive in this part of the world, these people are different and proud of their heritage.  Their funky hats all have a meaning from their geographical origin of birth, their position in the community, to their marital status. Here is a just a few that we come across.

Girls about town                                      Married Indian, (hat turned up)                            Unmarried Indian Chicas, (hats turned down.....all shy like)

Unmarried mother, (tutt, tutt)                                Probably the father, our friend the chief 'T'              Cheeky little ragamuffin

Haven't got a clue, but funky hats eh?                                                       Wives of Rancheros

A cheeky Ranchero                                                  Oh, where did you get that hat?                                         Makes me smile every time, (Andrea)

Recognise these two funny hats?                                                 My favourite, of course                                          Wot no bar up here?

That's it for Bolivia. Check it out if you have the chance. It's full of extremes, surprises, amazing natural landscapes and lovely people.
