Got the boat going pretty well now. A poled out stay sail and a poled out genoa works well downwind and is easily controllable from the cockpit. Just as well bearing in mind the amount of times reefs have been put in and shaken out. The wind has been quite strong gusting over 30 kts and the sea is big with a cross swell - not conjucive with comfortable sailing. We are now deep reefed to slow the boat otherwise a mutiny would be on the cards.
Shaun spat the dummy 'cos it took him three attempts just to make a mug of tea. One went over his hand (a few choice words were uttered) and the other went down the sink before he even took one sip (even more choice words uttered). Jo has spent most of the last 2 days in the scratcher looking pretty miserable. She asked for a cracker. We thought she meant a Xmas cracker to cheer her up. So we pulled a Xmas cracker and put the hat on her head. What she really wanted was a Jacobs Cream Cracker to help her unsettled tum. This made the rest of us fall around in fits of laughter.

The whole day cheered up after that event. The weather is even due to moderate shortly and the boat is much steadier with the current sail pattern. Things are looking brighter!
