Sailing fast today. Barbados is getting close, the incentive of drinking our first rum punch in the Barbados Yacht Club is driving us on.
The wind is a steady 25 knts from the ENE and we are powering along under reefed poled out head sails at high speeds, sometimes in excess of 13 knts. Our last recorded noon to noon 24 hr run showed a 197M run on the GPS and a 204M run on the log. We are sailing faster this morning than yesterday afternoon so our current projected run is in excess of 200M/day. Pretty good considering we are not trying particularly hard. The boat is taking what is thrown at it pretty well and if pushed could go faster but we dont want to risk breaking anything this far out (500+ Miles).
