We are still out here bobbing around after leaving
Palmerston last night. Progress has been good and at 2.30 pm we are some 100NM
from Palmerston and 280NM from Niue.
Had a good sail overnight in about 12 knots
from the east. The first night back at sea is generally tough though, after
having had a good sleep in Palmerston, but each night after the first one
tends to get a bit easier as you get back into the routine of 3 hour "grabs" of
sleep.
We had cloud this morning and some rain. This just
served to mess with the wind intensity and direction, and did not put any water
in our tank. This afternoon we are back to full sun and a south-east trade wind
of 12 knots. Not breaking records but still moving along nicely.
When I finish here we are going to have another go
at trying to catch a big fish. Robert is fired up to land a big one after our
marlin experience a couple of days back. We shall see!!
Battery is running low so I will sign off for
now.
Andrew.
