5th November 2013 Luang Prabang – Mekong River
Original houses along the Mekong river are gradually being converted with UNESCO guidelines to preserve their colonial look.
We take a trip on the Mekong to give us a feel for life on the river.
The terracing shows how high the Mekong rises in the wet season. As it subsides, the banks of the river are cultivated with vegetables.

They put scorpions and snakes in the bottles – to give it strength! YUK!

Bargaining for the price of the two small bottles, the Kip is 12,000 kip= 1 GBP We buy them for 15,000 Kip!
