KAKADU
NATIONAL PARK
UBIRR
sacred site in KAKADU
This area was under water just 6
weeks ago, the flood plains are a huge source of food with enormous amounts
of fish for the Aboriginal clan that lived in this area they called Gagudju.
This
remnant of escarpment look like ruins of monuments, no wonder the aborigines
felt no need for temples!
The
East Alligator river runs alongside this escarpment sandy walk, it is usually
5 metres deeper during the wet!
Its
not surprising that more rock paintings are within this cave shelter
David
took this photo of the rainbow bea-eater, they delight us by flying so close
and not being shy!
I’ve
no idea what this butterfly is called, but it has fabulous colours doesn’t
it?
