Phuket is BMW motorbike time!

Arrived in Phuket full of anticipation for the new bike, only to discover it hadn’t even reached Singapore!  The best offer was the day before we left for the Europe!   But these Thai people are so nice, they said David can have the one in the window which was almost what he ordered, main difference being the colour of the trim.

Wow, what a surprise to find that our good friend and neighbour Alf, had secretely bought one too, and surprised David by having it first!  He’s never ridden a bike before, but after one day’s lessons by the salesmen, he was off!

Valerie even tried to mount the beast, legs not long enough I’m afraid.

We did a 350 km tour (not dressed like this I might add!) around the very beautiful Pangna Bay area just the other side of Phuket island bridge.

Alf even managed to get Sally saddled on the back for a brief ride up our road.

Alf and David plan to take a trip to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand, a 3 day ride from here, in September, when David returns from our trip to Europe.  In the meantime, Valerie will be visiting her sister and family  in the U.S.
