Valerie joned Bunty and Christine after their 2 day trek along the top of the Tiger leaping gorge, to visit the bottom of the gorge.  They were very elated after this, and Valerie was feeling greatly improved after suffering from a streaming cold!

The narrow pass that the Yangtze goes through is the longest and narrowest gorge in the world!

This boiling mass of Yangtze River will be blocked off soon for yet another hydro electric dam!

There are many chaise carriers to take the unfit tourists up and down the steps to the Gorge, they were walking as fast as us, and only stopping once on the way up the 500 steps!

After lunch looking out over the gorge, we were driven further up into the mountains towards Shangrila – a completely different country almost, as we climbed over the mountains and onto the Tibetan plateau.
