Yesterday passed pretty uneventfully; just more of the 'same old' and before you know it the day has gone.
However last night and this morning has been a little different. Rather than squalls kicking up last night, towards dawn the wind dropped pretty much away. But the sea was still much in motion and so we weren't going anywhere much but rolling pretty uncomfortably in the process. At the time we had the jib set on the inner forestay and there was some nasty flogging and slapping from the sail. it seems that as a result the cam-action forestay attachment came lose and to cap it all bent itself. Not really it's fault but it did get some cursing all the same. Anyway all fixed again and back in action.
As a result of the light winds and the repairs we didn't make as many miles in the last 24 as we would have hoped; 147 miles yesterday - 1193 since Las Palmas - and 1638 to go. Actually, you might have noticed a remarkable consistency in our daily mileage figures; it seems Finnrose goes at her own pace, no matter what, and her own pace is about 150 miles per day, plus or minus a small number. Thank you Finnrose
