Of course we are still using the engine. We'd prefer not to, but the complete absence of wind has lasted 4 days now and we do have planes to catch. The forecast says the wind will start to return tonight and by Tuesday should be back to its normal pattern, ie. 15-20 knots from the NE, but by then we hope to be sampling the rum punches in St. Lucia.
The trade winds have not been as reliable this year as we expected. Perhaps it is all to do with climate change and global warming; who knows? Anyway, we have an engine and the diesel and we are using them.
158 miles yesterday. So far we have voyaged 2731 miles from Las Palmas and have another 150 miles to go. All being well we should be Rodney Bay Marina around lunchtime tomorrow.
