Still going downwind in the same direction. With a bit of luck if we did
nothing at all we would blow up on a shore in the Caribbean. Everything is
still well on-board; crew are in fine spirits. If only everything you put
down didn't immediately fly to the other side of the boat everything would
be wonderful.

The highlight of yesterday was the catching of a fish, our first one of the
voyage and, for me the first one ever - Stuart, that is. Never too late for
an old dog to learn new tricks. Actually I am sure the fish we caught must
have been at the lower end of the fish IQ scale. We were trolling
(trailing) a 'muppet', a lure which looks vaguely like a squid, and our fish
went for it - fool! The fish was a dorado, a beautiful creature. Ours was
on the small side for the species but nevertheless he put up a good fight
and if he had been any bigger I am sure our 20lb line would have broken.
Timing was ideal; we caught him just before lunch. So it was sea to plate
in less than 30 minutes. It doesn't come any fresher than that and it was
delicious. As it turned out the size was just right, a good meal for 3
people with nothing left over.

We were then joined by a pod of pilot whales, larger, slower and more
graceful than the bottle-nosed dolphins of yesterday. They were such
beautiful creatures, it made our afternoon complete.

You might get the impression that food is becoming quite important on this
voyage. You'd be right. Despite all the trials and tribulations of trying
to cook when everything disappears off the work-surface as soon as you turn
your back, or eat when as soon as you put your knife down it shoots to the
other side of the saloon, our appetite is good and we do look forward to
good meals (mainly courtesy of Liz). Yesterday's fish lunch was followed by
steak last night. Super! What will today bring?

146 miles yesterday; 2034 to go.
