Hi all! The crew of Ceilidh say hello, if any of you are thinking
where is my e-mail, we appear to have had several that we tried to send two days
ago not go through. Not sure where they went as the e-mail here says
sent.
We will try and send a few more tomorrow!
So how has today gone? First thing is an MIB for Roy ref helming in
strong winds last night and this afternoon. The fact that we can not put
the third reef in was making it a bit fun. He was also on the Helm when
the jib sheet came detached! The pin that self tacking jib sheet connects
down to once it has been through the block at the clew has broken. We
currently have a conventional jib sheet rigged.
But the sailing has been good with about 165 NM run. however as the wind
had backed last night we are not quite going straight for the WP in the
Azores. So we are only 151 NM closer to it. We have just passed the
1000 NM mark, so only 978 NM left to the WP. We are currently close hauled
with 2 reefs in the main and a reduced jib in 20 – 25 Knots of wind, see state
is Mod to Rough. But the sun is shinning and its warm.
Pork chops and spicy potato wedges in the oven for dinner and bread to be
made as we have just used up the last of the bought
bread! |
