For once I don’t have a lot to report this morning which is really good news compared to recent bulletins!

 

The winds have steadied out to a F4-5 Northerly breeze which has Ceilidh Gybeing along our course line of 230M to Las Palmas at around 6.5knots with 300NM to run.

 

The autohelm has remained online overnight and can cope with the reduced swell and wind strength, we still plan a full overhaul and alignment check at Las Palmas.

 

We still only have the full main hoisted but plan to hoist the Momentum Gennaker this morning.

 

This should give us around 8knots in boatspeed but with the grib forecast showing almost calm conditions tomorrow, we are unlikely to Berth Ceilidh before the early hours of Wednesday morning.

 

The calmer conditions on board have allowed us to complete any final ARC safety checklists and add any other items to the shore based team’s jobs list.

 

At the time of writing, Neil, Janet, Mags, Lucy and Caroline are all on route to Las Palmas where they will stay in an apartment which was previously organised. Paul is arriving on Tuesday which will be our full complement and there will be 10 Ceilidh team shirts on display once we berth! I just hope I can get mine to the laundry in time!

 

No doubt the ARC social calendar will have their full attention in the meantime.

 

An interesting choice at breakfast this morning. We are a bit low on milk so the Quartermasters decreed custard and muesli for starters, it was actually really good!
