Rhapsode

I should have mentioned yesterday that as we left Fernando we were escorted out of the bay by a family of dolphins. Mum and Michaela are quite certain that they knew that they were waving to them. Some of the dolphins found better things to do like fishing for breakfast I suppose but one of the others went off and rounded them up again to finish their escort duties!

The boat is struggling to keep a course for the Iles de Salut. The wind is light and I can’t ‘tune’ the wind vane to keep us on course with the swell that keeps knocking us off course. The solution of course is to tack and that’s what were doing. We have 1214 miles to go from noon today.

We’re on water rations. The water maker packed up yesterday afternoon. As far as I can tell the problem lies with the motor or the gearbox both of which are outside my level of expertise especially on a rolly boat. We have at least 300 litres of water on board so we won’t go thirsty. Maybe a little smelly tho’! We’re hoping for the occasional rain shower so we can go on deck for a scrub down.

Michaela has declared last night ‘Full Moon Night’! (and guess what -  she’s right at last!)
