We've arrived!!

A few more thunderstorms last night and a rainy arrival at about nine o'clock this morning. Whatever happened to the advertised blue seas, blue sky...

We both felt very odd walking on dry land after being bounced around for five days. I'm quite sure I saw the land tip over a few times when we went ashore for our arrival breakfast.

I think I'm supposed to comment on the lessons learned from our trip. So in the spirit of brotherhood with anyone who is daft enough to put to sea in a small boat I offer the following:

1. Never go to sea without a girl on board. If you really can't get one (wife won't let you, etc) then take several yards of extra strong knicker elastic.

2. Encourage your children to take an interest in marine engineering from an early age.

3. Try to avoid having an engine in which important bits like alternators fall off when you least expect it.

4. Finally, only ever take vegetarians as crew so that if a pork pie goes missing you only have yourself to blame!!

Right, that's it until the next time.

Michael, where did we see that nice fish restaurant...?
