Some people never learn!

Just when we were nicely settled in Lanzarote I got an urge for pastures new. Why oh why, I hear you ask when everything was ticking along quite nicely?

It's simply an itch that needs to be scratched.

So here we are (me, Michael and Andrew) lolloping (not sure Nelson would have known this nautical term) down the trade winds towards the Cape Verde Islands and thence, we hope, onwards to Brazil. Tho' if this lolloping keeps up we might find ourselves spending two years in the CVIs whilst I wait for another urge.

The main issue for this voyage is that I have no pork pies! Not a sniff. But as compensation I did mange to secret a few tins of Fray Bentos meat pies into the food locker so I am not totally reliant on textured vegetable protein for my diet.

Thank goodness!

Progess? We're doing well. Much better than expected. Yesterday, heading to Moro Jable from Gran Tarajal, there was not a breath of wind. We stopped to top up the fuel tank (and get some ice creams) in Morro Jable and by the time we got going again wind had appeared in the right abundance and from the right direction.

By the way we thought we had mice on board. Whoever sat on the port side of the cockpit could hear them singing. A mouse disco or a mouse choir - opinions were divided. Sadly, or perhaps not, the mice were traced to the high pressure pump of the water maker. Squeak, squeak, squeak.

Weather? Blue seas, blue skies, 2 to 3 metre swell, NE 4/5. And we are lolloping along at aound 5 to 6 knots under genoa only.

Amps? Loads of amps, a surfeit indeed, despite running the fridge and watermaker - with the ;oad shared equally by the Aquagen and the Air Breeze gennies.

What could be better?

Yes, I know, a pork pie!

Have a lovely day.

Peter, Michael and Andrew.
