Back at sea

Rhapsode

We’re bouncing along the coast north of Salvador at the moment. The wind is light and too close to the bow for comfort and the swell is bumpy. Our fingers are crossed that once we clear the next headland the wind will be a little freer. At the moment we are motor -sailing  and struggling to reach even four knots.

Before leaving Itaparica this morning we topped up the fresh water and then walked back to the fruit and veg stand for our bananas. The mandarins looked too good to miss so we got some of those as well and then walked back to the boat each with an ice cold coconut to drink.

Thence to the fuel barge in the entrance to Terminal Nautica where we bunkered just under 400 litres of diesel.

And now we are settling into our sea routine. With four of us we can do  3 on / 9 off,

More tomorrow after getting the noon position.
