Day 5

Sunrise - 0800

Wind – 14 -18knts

Speed – 6-7knts

Today we are certainly making up for yesterday’s loss of distance, as we only covered 20nm in 12hours, today we have enough wind ‘but it may be down to the chili we had last night’ Now we are heading in the right direction at 7knts, now we can only see 2 yachts on the horizon, but we are certainly catching them up..

So far 2 fish have grabbed Uncle Albert’s lures, 1 a sizable tuna which we estimate to have been around 25lbs, and the 2nd took a nibble to the lure, but decided not to swallow, but on both occasions the fish won the battle, so far there are no tuna steaks for tea tonight…It’s now late at night and thankfully the wind has remained constant throughout which has meant that we have made very good progress today. Our speed was touching 8 knots at times as we have swallowed up the miles..and in the right direction. We all sat down tonight for a beef bourginion feast and nothing was left in the pan afterwards!! Now we want this wind to keep going all night which will put us in great spirit for tomorrow.
