It was lovely to be able to share the celebration of our 40th anniversary with rally friends.  There were only four boats left in what I call the Dilly Dally Rally, Camomile, Angel, Scot Free  and Moonshiner.  Two Australian boats, Chappie and Mintaka also joined us.  Originally it was supposed to be a happy hour aboard ANGEL.  However, as the nimbers grew and the rain kept pouring down, we decided we needed more space.  Accordingly, plans were made to have a lunchtime BBQ using the Bora Bora Yacht Club barbecue equipment.  We would take side dishes to share.  However, we were a bit wobbly in our decision as noon approached and the winds were howling and the rain kept coming down.  Then the Aussies and Canadians decided we have cooked outdoors in bad weather before, so let's go ahead.  Having decided, we arrived ashore during the few minutes of non-liquid sunshine we were to be allotted for the day, only to have the winds and wet return with a vengeance.  The meat was put aside for another day and we feasted on hors d'oeuvres and salads instead.  It was fun and delicious.
!  Sue from Camomile even baked a cake!

In a way the situation was similar to that of our actual honeymoon, where it rained so much on the Cabot Trail that we couldn't even strike our tent and find a hotel.  After a week of that we looked at each other and said that if we could survive the honeymoon, we could survive the marriage!  Seems to have worked!
