Mon 20 - Tue 21/11/2023 Atlantic Day 2 (Days run from 1200 to 1200 UTC)
Distance run in 24h 151.3 nm. Atlantic distance 291.8 nm. Total distance to date 2221.8 nm.
On Monday afternoon the flexi tank in the aft cabin decides to manoevre its valve open to create a minor flood on the cabin floor. We tie the end up so this cannot happen again! We receive a report of an unmanned unlit fishing vessel from another boat in the fleet, so mark it as a hazard on our plotter. Another ARC boat, Helena, reports with some emotion of having repaired a faulty seacock at the third attempt. We send our congrats over the radio to give them some moral support.
In the early hours of the morning a ship passes us by 1.1 nm away. The wind dies again, so we are forced to put the engine on again. The consensus is to get South as quickly as possible where there should be better wind.
Tony is ill from early morning until lunchtime with vomiting and diahorrea. The consensus seems to be dehydration, though it could be seasickness, though there is not much sea running.
