A Foggy Day

Ugggh! Just when I thought that night watches
without fleeces were a possibility, along came last night. We rounded Cape St
Vincent at about 02:00 in fine weather and then a mist descended. Which became a
fog. There was no moon light and so we were sailing completely blind, glued on
the one hand to the radar and the on the other to watching for lights ahead.
This I could have happily done with little grumbling. It was when the fog
started condensing on me so that my hair and clothes were soaked and I had drops
of water condensing out of my eye brows that I did feel a little hard done
by.
We are now half way across the Gulf of Cadiz, with
171 miles to run to Malaga and around 120 miles to Gibraltar.
The plan is to try and ensure a first light pass
through the straights before arriving in Malaga (actually Torremolinos) at
around lunch time.
