1250 miles to go - still zipping along at 9 knots, sometimes more if we catch the surf. Alex went half way up the mast today to check the radar, which was the literal high point of his day. More flying fish on deck - we can only imagine the shock and annoyance felt by the fish when they have thousands of square miles of ocean to land on but end up on our deck, that is the definition of a bad day!

Other than that the crew filled their day with more mundane chores - we sent skipper on an archeological dig in the lazerette for potatoes. Stores are lasting well we just can't remeber where everything is. A large search party was dispatched this morning to find the Rice Crispies and the Skipper mumbled something about there being 40 litres of tomato puree on board....we might be opening a pizza restaurant when we get to St Lucia if we don't find it sooner.

The sea was a bit calmer today but the surf's up just now so I best sign off befoer I get bounced off my perch

More in the morning
