I'm back - emerged from the under the rock of refuge that any good sailor crawls under when beset by sea sickness. I am now seeking out Spike Milligan's cure for seasickness which is to  SIT UNDER A TREE.............alas not found tree yet

Just need to be brief because we are rocking and rolling all over the place today. Doing well miles wise, everyone's sense of humour still intact. Voyage pretty eventful so far - day before yesterday the generator packed up and, according to sod's law of sailing, we didn't have the spare needed to fix it. We were looking down the barrel of emergency power and water rationing. Never mind doing without the hair straigtheners, hair washing was looking perrilous. Glum Glum Glum.

But praise be to the ethos of The ARC, Alex went on the daily radio link up for the fleet and asked if anyone would give us their last rolo (ie a spare impela for the generator). We had lots of offers from help and very luckily for us there were 2 yachts roughly in our patch with the right spare on board. So we set a course overnight  to intercept and at 9.30 morning we met up with Kalandia who launched the spare in a bag over the side, attached to a line and a buoy. Steve hooked the package out of the water with re-assuring ease as Skip held the helm steady. Kalandia - we love you, thank you

Smashing, super, great fanatastic we thought, bagsy first shower and all that stuff. Just need to hoist the sails again. Up went the big Genoa and the then down came the big Genoa but in the way nature intended. The halyard broke and the big white flappy thing fell of the boat and into the sea. Luckily we recovered it before it got fouled on anything. Now there is much chin scratching going on as  to how to get it back up.

More soon - off now to see if a palm tree has appeared on deck

ps check out the photos to see how Immy kept a cool head throughout
