82 miles and just over 12 hours to go - there's
land out there somewhere.....
Keeping the thrills and challenges going to the
last - our auto pilot has just packed up and is beyond reviving for the rest of
the voyage. There is an orderly queue of volunteers to man the helm as it's too
hot to be down below (that'll be the lack of aircon....surely nothing else can
go wrong with 12 hours to go)
Meanwhile our powder monkey has been despatched to
the ships stores to muster goodies for our line crossing party. Odds on Laurence
will be taking line honours at the helm. The rest of us will be eating
Pringles.
Spirits are high, we are playing the soundtrack of
Paint Your Wagon which we have adopted as Tilly Mint's anthem. One
last night beneath a wandering star and all hands on deck for the
finish
