                | Our gracious hosts in Woods Hole Mass., Tom and Anne
Beninghof, took us fishing in Buzzards Bay on board SKIBBEREEN, their lovely
power boat which was built locally be a company called Fortier. As you can see
in the video, SKIBBEREEN is extremely well set up for fishing and is a tough and
powerful craft ideal for these waters. We jigged for Blue Fish and Striped Bass
on light tackle in an area above an undersea ledge which Tom described as,
'Something of a secret place.' I hooked the first one but he managed to spit out
the lure. Ten minutes later we had another bite and Nirit reeled in a good sized
Blue Fish. Tom makes a point of kissing each fish he lands but I
unfortunately missed this great shot. Nirit prepared the catch in olive oil,
garlic, salt and pepper, had it in the oven for just fifteen minutes and it made
excellent eating. Wood's Hole is the home of the world famous
Oceanographic Institute which will be familiar to anyone who's watched National
Geographic TV or the History Channel. We spent two nights moored inside a body
of water called Eel Pond which is accessed from the sea via a cut and a
drawbridge. This is the place which appears at the end of the
video. |
