All is well on board after the first day of our run up
to Bermuda. Wind and waves are so far exactly as forecast and we're having a
good run. As night fell we put a reef in the main and switched the genoa for the
self-tacking jib. At this point we were still in contact with several other
rally yachts, MAWARI and AURORA being the closest, but at daybreak we're all
alone. Right at the outset a few boats declared they would not beat to windward
to make Bermuda but would cut the corner and sail directly for the Chesapeake.
Mixed results listening to the SSB net. Is the satellite tracker working? Some
feedback from anyone on land would be useful.
