I woke up at dawn , and listened to the screeching wind howling in the
rigging. The whole boat would vibrate in protest . I stretched over , collected
my Ratatolie stuffed toy , cuddled him close and went back to sleep. Damned if i
was going to act all brave and stuff. Defiantly a day to stay in bed. Conner was
laughing at my rat stuffed toy , i pointed out to him that the rat has more sea
miles than him. That kept him quiet for a bit..LOL. So with the skies stormy
grey and the wind howling we did a few odd jobs on the boat. Securing the fuel
drums , checking the engines , an topping up with water. We discussed our plan
of attack for the next leg. Our plan is to try and head up the coast to East
London , and wait out a huge front that is hitting all the coastal towns. So we
might be holed up in East London until Tuesday before we can attempt to try and
cross the Aghulas Current again. We have been checking an rechecking weather to
try and get a good idea when we can cross the current and have enough time to
get at least 200 miles away from the coast.
Skippers Note: Interesting comparison, we are on the same number of engine
hours now as we had on the last trip, but then we were in Fortaleza,
Brazil! |
