Night rain, 5th Dec, 2130 UTC
Dear All, All is well in the blue world. We can feel we are getting
South as the water gets warmer, bluer and generally feels different. We are now
just over two thirds of the way with around 850 miles to go, so we are slowly
getting into the Party mood. The wind has been pretty irregular to say the
least. Last night, we had a nice squall on the way to remind us that we have not
yet arrived. At least, we had a good reason to justify bringing the waterproofs
along. The boat was crystal clean this morning after the tons of rain that fell
on us. At one stage, without any sails on, we were still progressing at over
5.5 knots. News from the poets’ corner: From cirrus to stratus, The cumulo nimbus Give us the impetus To use an umbrellus We have made very good progress at reading clouds. Today is Saturday, so we are going out and DJ Matthieu is
firing the night. Tomorrow is Sunday, so pancakes and nutella to start with: we
have a now a full set of traditions in place and mutinies are quick to develop
if you change crews’ habits. We also stick to our daily rum ration and we
double on Sundays in pure Navy tradition Happy Saturday night, be good Noeluna |
