Came down Seydisfjordur and round into Lodmundarfjordur and anchored for the night.  This was to save 10 miles today as it is still 50 miles to the next harbour and the wind, as forecast has been ahead all morning.
 
The anchorage was rather open but sheltered from the north where the wind has been for several days.  When I anchored a flock of about 100 fulmars came and settled behind the boat, paddling to stay in place.  This morning there were still a few left.
 
They have a short body, little tail but long, straight, efficient gliding wings.  They follow the boat most of the time but do not seem very interested in crumbs or scraps.  I have never seen one eat.  You see gannets diving head first, terns picking fish out of the water, gulls squabbling over any bits, but what do fulmars eat?
