We sailed round north of the islands to Klaksvig after careful study of the "grib" weather forecast.
The forecast was right and the gale only arrived last night, when we were safely moored.
Pizza was found ashore before a wet and windy night.

These are the stacks we photographed from above.  Sailing round them was just as impressive.

The gusts downwind of pointed mountains are often strong and all the islands this side of the Faroes are pointed.
The sea cliff on the headland straight ahead is the highest in the world at 887m.  The cliff in this photo is 815m.

We are sailing upright in this photo but half an hour later a gust had the cabin windows were in the water, to a squeal by Ann.  We were motoring 15 minutes later without enough wind to sail.
