Each harbour is a different for Murrel and Miles,
Castine had yachts but was really a naval training school.
Camden was a posh holiday area with large shiny yachts and New Harbour
is a little river but with a very busy lobster fishing fleet.
Each boat lays many pots each with a buoy
(Remember - pronounced as booey) to trap rivals propellers.
The lobster are thriving as the cod were fished
out. The cod were the biggest predators on young lobsters, so now the area
is full of lobsters.
 Those are the boats they use in the background,
fast launches rather than what we think of as fishing boats.
The jetty behind Murrel has cages under it to keep the lobsters
alive.
 Here is one of them with his claws tied. We
had already celebrated Mark's birthday with lobster and champagne the day before
so we did not eat this one but had fish instead. Sharing our
table we a chatty couple from Maryland who had driven 18 hours over two days to
get to Maine.
After a beautiful morning we had a good beat up
into new harbour.
