After bidding goodbye to friends Carole & David in Calpe, it was time to
move on, as we had to make Gibraltar to pick crew up on the 4th November,
so we set off along the Spanish coast, stopping overnight along the way in
Torrevieja harbour (can't recommend it for a revisit, sadly!) and Aguilas.
Coming in to Aguilas in the semi-dark was interesting, trying to avoid
the plentiful, unlit, marine farms - large dark pens just on the water
line, and a rocky reef separating the mainland from a spooky island with
deserted houses, and bats which visited our boat !! We were grateful to
leave Aguilas very early morning and make way to Almeria. Mostly
motoring, with an occasional view of the sails.
