LADY LIV ARC DIARY DAY 4 - 29 NOVEMBER 2007

This day finds Lady Liv at 24:31.97N and 022:10.76W under sunny skies,
some cloud and an almost tropical feel to the day. We are sailing
wing-on-wing and although the speeds are not great the sailing is superb.
The Nights of course are magical.

Our Captain today caught his first fish, after a successful titanic
struggle to bring it aboard. It was a 15lb Mahi Mahi!!!! Once in the boat,
Brian brought out the rum to pour into the gills to finish the struggle.
All of us followed the bottle and the rum vapors with our noses until we
were shooed away. (We are a dry boat.) In any case, we had in our boat a
lovely fish which Brian filleted while Email and Mike (Goldilocks)
prepared for lunch fried in garlic and butter. A few hours later we caught
ANOTHER Mahi Mahi which we will prepare for a later meal. Trade wind
sailing was never better.....and we have not even reached the full Trades
yet. To continue with gastronomy, Ian (the Medic) and David (the Engineer)
prepared a fantastic supper last night....chili con carne a la Cape Verde
which was preceeded by Spanish melon and parma ham. You can tell the lads
are into the kitchen in a big way. A note to wives and friends that this
is not necessarily precedent setting.

During the night watch we were nearly "rammed" by another yacht which came
across our bows. Imagine, no boats in sight for hours until this one. He
was so close we could see the whites of his eyes and we nearly borded to
borrow some badly needed propane for our cooker. The yacht escaped with
his propane tanks still in his possession.

On some personal notes:

Brian has started to work on his celestial navigation problems:

David was the first to do his laundry:

Michael (Gentleman) Smith finally manged to finish the last ten pages of
his book which he as been trying for the last three days:

Captain Heff continues to press his crew towards greater discipline in
using the heads and propane for the cooker:

Email is working hard to understand British humour:

Mike (Goldilocks) continues with tales of St Malo:

Ian remains our in house comedian, a title he quickly captured.

As for Lady Liv, she continues to be true to her nature and is carrying us
westward in comfort and safety......Keep it up!!

Until tomorrow......the happy and tireless but never humourless crew of LL
signing off.
