Thursday 28th January. The skipper is in Betzdorf, Germany
Last Thursday we flew out of Frankfurt to Amman, Jordan to stay with
American expats Bob and Cris whom we met last year in Port Suez and Larnaca.
Bob and Cris are old Jordan hands having been in Amman for years so we got
the tour of the best bits: Ajlun, Jerash, River Jordan, Dead Sea and Petra.
Petra lived up to expectations. The place is somewhat familiar from movies
like The Last Crusade but seems even bigger and pinker in real-life. We also
did the Indiana Jones/Lawrence of Arabia thing with horse and camel riding
while looking dashing and dangerous sporting the red and white keffiyeh.
