Lazy Days In August

Since our last blog we have very little new to report.  Indeed, we have just been pottering and chilling out ( if thats posible when the temperature is 38 degrees).  This part of the Ionian is lovely, but during August gets invaded by the Italians and Greeks from Athens on their annual holidays.  It is therefore "crowded" but there are so many bays and anchorages that it really is possible to get away from the crowds.  Problems only arise if you want an alongside berth in the popular harbours where there are the "tourist" attractions.

We plan to arrive back at Preveza on Thursday so that we can go into the marina first thing Friday.  That will give us a couple of days to clean the yacht, do an oil change etc. and get ready to fly home on Sunday.

I had intended to write more, but the temperature has just reached 38 again and I am melting onto the keypad.  Therefore, I will just add some photos for you to see. The first couple of pics are of a village that was abandoned after the 1953 earthquake, Port Leone- a wonderful anchorage and interesting place.  The other pics are places various and where it looks hot it is! Also, spot the goats.

Best Wishes - see you soon
