Made it!
Tahiti is now tied to our bow. A very quiet beautiful evening and day was replaced with very brisk sailing to say the least. The boat spent the night charging on a broad reach at 7 to 10 knots and even when the main was lowered after continuously building wind 6 to 8 knots was routine. Some pretty heavy rain has cleaned the boat fairly well and the weather is still overcast but warm.
Finally we rounded Venus Point into the shelter and the burning on the face is the only vestage of the wild wind. The waves were remarkable being big swells but at a very long lazy frequency.
We have moored at the Tahiti Yacht Club and have to decided to rest here and begin the shopping quest to replace the PC etc and replenish stores. The crew and I will be probably parting company in the near future and while they have been great I miss the simplicity of solo sailing. All that is yet to come and first things first, have to check in with customs etc.
