Yesterday we travelled to the blue lagoon and blue it was. The only
slightly freaky part was the constantly circling reef sharks that are
happy to swim in water as shallow as 6 inches. As they were about six foot
long it was decided to keep our appendages and not risk entering the
water. Stone fish were fairly common as well so the beauty of the place
was enjoyed from the dinghy.
We are now back on the east side of the atoll trying to fix a few little
bits and pieces prior to our departure to Tahiti. With luck we will be
away this afternoon but we are prepared to leave in the morning if
neccessary. Quite excited about getting back to civilisation with the
possibility of a long shower and a haircut (required) as well as getting a
new computer to make life less trying.
Have to say I am still very impressed by the colours here, especially the
water. The Blue Lagoons colour was so bright it was almost absurd. This I
will miss.
