Course over ground 217 magnetic 6pm UTC
Nothing of great note to report. A course change in the morning has me on a line to the Marquesas. Its a mere 1743 nautical miles from here. About ten to fourteen days I guess, depending on breeze. No rush though, happy to plod along and get there peacefully too. Its hard to have a shower when the wind is over 15 apparent and doing the dishes is the stuff of nightmares.
Yesterday was overcast and a little ominous but today has come out gleaming. Clouds with rain under are scattered around and I don't think I'm ready to get hit by rain so there's some organising there. I may even try and collect some for the fun of it.
The course has the boat going over the Clipperton Fracture Zone. Now I'm not usually a worrier and I know nothing of a fracture zone, but does this mean a giant hole could open up beneath? Isn't this where an island appeared out of the water? Just the name Fracture Zone, troubling. And who is this bloke Clipperton to have a crack named after him?(or her).
Anyway, better run, mustn't miss my pedicure appointment.
