Following last nights becalming it was decided to leave the main down and raise a daisy drifter, or second headsail. The boat is moving more easily and although there is some speed sacrifice the banging of windless sails has gone and that has saved my nerves.
With all the problems I had getting internet connection the matter of thanks to those at la Cruze who were so kind, tolerant and generous was neglected. Tim and Lindsay, my boat neighbours were lovely characters who were perfect to have next door and always had an invitation for me to go somewhere. Jaimie who was so helpful in so many ways and because of whom I am now a proud and paid up member of the Pacific Singlehanders Sailors Assoc. The burgee is flying high. There were lots of great peope I met there, Leif and Lisa, Mike and many more. Thanks to all.
Wind has picked up at last and the boat is happily burbling along at 6 and a half and the seas are smaller and less confused. All up a great day's sail.
