Arbroath to Eyemouth

55:52.29N 02:05.23W A grand day out – that sums up today very well. The forecast was better than expected and the sun was shining so we skipped out of Arbroath on the morning tide into 15-20mph of wind on a comfortable close reach. Sparkling sea with small white caps, steady wind, warm sun and a big estuary to cross – sailing heaven. We followed four other yachts out and had them in our sights all the way across. Plenty of birdlife, especially off St Abbs Head and then round to Eyemouth, a busy fishing harbour with a tricky entrance to negotiate. Welcomed by a huge seal who gave us a good inspection as we entered, and then we were able to raft up in time to go ashore for fish and chips - another perfect day.
