Thought all too good. After finding a prime berth last night in the centre of town barely 200 yards from Bermuda's number 1 chinky the illustrious one was raised from his slumbers this morning by a member of her madges government asking if their patrol boat could have its space back. We are now moored against a concrete wall on the edge of town. HM customs were friendly here unlike the ar**holes that plague the Caribbean. I was even treated to a long discourse concerning the cuisine in the latest Jap restaurant versus the Chinese in Water Street and that in his opinion you can't beat the Steak House next to the Bank of Butterfield. Container load of pot noodles being flown in today as the firemen are joining for the return leg. Pot noodles and tea. I will be venturing into town shortly to check the hot dog supplies in Aunty Vera's (no chaos or loitering) supermarket. It's all very posh here: hoping they let the firemen in but I put in a good word at customs last night with my mate pointing out that one's diet does not necessarily define one's social status. hot dogs are a good example. A nod and wink indicated they would be tolerated. Found a cockroach on board this morning: will take it back to the Chinese tonight to be reunited. Am not sure what nationality it is. Tried to look it up in 'Cockroaches of the World' by C. Rushit.
Judging by the way it stared indifferently over my shoulder and ignored me totally it is probably Caribbean
