Well not quite the end of the blog. Went from Gib to Cuerta this morning. It's across the straights. It's a Spanish colony in Morocco. On the way back back this afternoon Mark thought he spotted a red flare. I looked so did I. We headed towards it. It was about half a mile away. As we got closer saw what we thought was a mooring buoy in the middle of the straights. Decided to press on and look. It was a man in a red life jacket. He had been in the water a while and in a main shipping lane. The crew all acted spot on and we had him on board without effort. He was shocked and hypothermic. Channel 16 and various straights channels yielded little so we phoned the marina in Gibraltar to arrange ambulance and reception which they did. A grateful Spanish man was whisked away from the jetty. He had been out fishing when his boat caught fire. He grabbed some flares and jumped in several miles from land. The fire went out the boat floated away leaving him stranded ... Anyway alls well it seems
